Welcome to Foundation
At Pilgrim, we nurture a strong sense of identity right from the beginning of a child’s formal learning journey in Foundation. Throughout the lower primary years, our curriculum prioritises the foundational skills of Literacy and Numeracy. This equips our students to start to develop the skills they need to become strong thinkers, confident mathematicians, and effective communicators.
Our unique programs are designed to support both mathematical and literacy development. These sequential, evidence-based programs are delivered with explicit instruction, carefully tailored to the developmental stages of our learners. In this nurturing Christian environment, we also focus on building a strong sense of wellbeing and fostering the skills of collaboration.
Little Explorers at Pilgrim School (LEAP) Program
Our LEAP program is a school readiness program that allows children to safely make the leap into their schooling at Pilgrim School.
It is an opportunity for children to:
- build relationship and connection with key staff and other students
- feel safe and confident in our school environment
- connect with school routines
- explore areas to become familiar with the school and Campus.

One of our Early Years staff members visits enrolled children in their preschool or Early Learning Centre setting before their first visit to Pilgrim School. This enables staff to get to know your child a little while they are in an environment in which they feel comfortable. We then offer three weeks of one half day visit each week, followed by three weeks of a full day visit each week.
It is great to see how confident our students are to commence school after completing our LEAP program!
Co-Curricular
We provide our students a number of extra-curricular opportunities for them to further explore their unique passions.Â

Inclusive Education
We believe that by providing a learning experience which caters for individual needs and differences within a caring and supportive atmosphere, children will grow in the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for life.
